Fun Fact Friday: Afterborn Heirs

Heirs of a deceased person who were conceived before his death but born afterwards, as well as children resulting from assisted conception born after his death who are determined to be his, inherit as if they had been born during the deceased person's lifetime. (For more, check out Virginia Code Section 64.2-204.)

This has traditionally been a possibility only for men, but technology is changing all the time! If this is a concern for you, be sure to talk to your lawyer when you draw up your will.
