Virginia Healthcare Decisions Day
Today is Healthcare Decisions Day in the Commonwealth and across the nation.
All adults in Virginia have the right to prepare a document called an “Advance Directive” to put their wishes regarding medical care in writing. An Advance Directive tells others what types of medical care you do and do not want in the event you are unable to express your wishes on your own.
When clients choose Leitch Law to prepare their Wills, they are offered the opportunity to have an Advance Directive prepared as well, at no extra charge. While there are free forms available online, an attorney is able to customize an Advance Directive to each client's individual needs and desires. By offering Advance Directives at no extra charge to Wills clients, Leitch Law encourages clients to prepare themselves for anything their future might bring.
More information on Advance Directives and additional resources can be found here (Virginia-specific) and here (national website).
